It seems that there’s a bit of a competition going on between the police forces in the United Arab Emirates, and it’s not to see which one can put the worst guys beyond bars. No! It’s to see which police force can drive the hottest cars.
We already showed you some of the super cars that the Dubai police own. The Emirate has an entire fleet, which includes a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Bugatti Veyron, and an Aston Martin One-77. It turns out that Abu Dhabi has been trying to one up the Dubai fleet with their own collection of super-fast and high end luxury vehicles, including a Lexus RCF, and a Rolls Royce Phantom. Now, they’ve added a brand new vehicle–a 7 Lykan HyperSport, the same vehicle driven by Vin Diesel in “The Fast and the Furious 7.”
Painted black, white, and red, the Abu Dhabi 7 Lykan HyperSport costs $3.4 million, and was custom made by Ralph Debbas, the 29-year-old Lebanese inventor of the super vehicle. Some of the features of the car include:
- Custom LED Projector Headlights. In “The Fast and the Furious 7,” the 7 Lykan HyperSport featured LED headlights outfitted with 420 genuine diamonds. While the Abu Dhabi police cruiser doesn’t have LED headlights with that kind of bling, it does boast custom designed projector headlights with full LED technology. The triangular headlight gives the vehicle a truly futuristic look that complements the rest of its features.
- Lighting Fast Speeds. The 7 Lykan HyperSport can go from speeds of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour or 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds. The speed comes from the 3.8-litres twin turbo flat-six 770-horsepower engine under the hood. The vehicle has been shown to travel at top speeds of 395 kilometers per hour, or about 245 miles per hour.
- Incredible Exclusivity. There will only be seven of these vehicles made, so the Abu Dhabi police force truly has received a one of a kind vehicle. The car will, of course, not be used for patrols. Instead, it will be shown off at community events, alongside the other vehicles in the super car fleet.
Acquiring a super car featured in a movie all about racing super cars, truly raises the stakes in the United Arab Emirates police super car war. How will Dubai come back from this one? We’ll all just have to wait and see.
